No golden egg needed
I’ve always been infatuated with food from around the world, and Hong Kong is no different
Hong Kong has a lot of world renown for their spectacular restaurants. Whether that be from the wonderful dim sum establishments that dot the city, the street carts serving noodles and egg tarts, or the bustling atmosphere of the food courts and halls. The city is a gourmands dream.
The Origin (My Not-So-Unique Discovery)
When you’re in a new city, you need to learn what is delicious in that area, something that you can’t get back home. One of those places I had heard about was Kam’s Roast Goose, an establishment renown for their, well, roast goose! They have several locations around the world, but today I’m specifically talking about the Hong Kong location.

It’s certainly not afraid to show off it’s renown, and it deserves it. Normally there is a fairly long wait, but my party was able to be seated fairly quickly. The inside of the establishment was modest, with whole goose roasting along with other meats near the entrance. The atmosphere was lively, and the service and staff were quick and kind. Shortly after being seated it was time for business. We ordered suckling pig (crispy and rich flavor), jellyfish salad (Refreshing and surprisingly crunchy), and of course, half a roast goose.
The crackly skin, the perfect braising, every bite being tender and juicy, our party had a moment where all conversation had halted while we indulged in some of the greatest poultry we’d ever eaten. I felt real sadness when all the food was gone, because I knew I’d just eaten something magnificent, and certainly something to be appreciated.
Location
Kam’s Roast Goose is located at: 226號 Hennessy Rd, Wan Chai, Hong Kong.
It’s not a far walk from the Wan Chai metro station, about five to six minutes away from most of the station exits.
Conclusion
This goose was legendary. If you enjoy dark meat in poultry, and rich wonderful flavors, you will be more than satisfied with this meal. As always, please stay safe, and enjoy this wonderful part of the world!
