I’m a sucker for unique natural wonder, they have this way of being loved simply because the world created them that way, and the Cliffs of Moher (pronounced like “Moar”) certainly deserve the love and world renown they get. I got the wonderful opportunity to witness the Cliffs at the beginning of December 2024. I had a good rest in the upstairs guest room of a local pub beforehand, and I was eagerly anticipating the aforementioned Cliffs that I’d heard so much about, and it did not disappoint. After making my way onto a bus, and enjoying the three and a half hour ride from Dublin through the lush, green Irish country side, I was met with all that I had wanted to see.

What are the Cliffs of Moher?
The Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland’s most popular tourist attractions. They are sheer, rocky cliffs that jut hundreds of feet over the ocean. They give a breathtaking viewpoint over the western Irish coastline, and are surrounded by green rolling hills. I was worried that the timeframe, going in December, would diminish the view, but that ended up being completely unfounded. It is easily accessible either by driving a rental, or through the many bus companies that operate out of Dublin.

Impressions
The powerful gusts of wind, the seabirds gently hovering in the shadow of the Cliffs, the feeling of the lush grass, and clean air. The Cliffs of Moher are a site to behold. There were a lot of other people who were there to witness the Cliffs, but it was easy enough to find a spot away from the crowds to really appreciate them. There were cute, small shops that were built into the side of the hill next to the visitors center. The center itself had a cafe, information about the cliffs, and a small gift shop (I ended up buying some mead from there to share with my friends when I returned home). The Cliffs of Moher are a most see sight when visiting Ireland.
