Nature back at it once again, creating some stunning natural wonders.
The Giant’s Causeway, located in Northern Ireland, is a stunningly unique locale that should certainly be on everyone’s Ireland travel itinerary. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986. Come explore this incredible landscape with me.

What is it?
The Giant’s Causeway is a beach formed by thousands of distinctive hexagonal, interlocking basalt columns. It’s a striking landscape formed by volcanic activity that began millions of years ago. It has several branching hiking trails. These trails lead up the surrounding hills and mountains. They lead to gorgeous views of the beaches and ocean.

How to get to the Giant’s Causeway
There are several ways to get to the Causeway from Northern Ireland’s capital city, Belfast.
One option is to take the train from Belfast to Coleraine. The train generally runs every hour Monday-Friday. It departs from Belfast’s new Grand Central station.
From there, exit to the left of the station. Find the bus center and look for either bus 170 or 402. These buses make frequent trips to the town of Bushmills and the Giant’s Causeway. This website ended up being a crucial resource for planning out the timeframes of the train/bus rides: https://www.translink.co.uk/
Alternatively, you can rent a car and drive one and a half hours to the Causeway from Belfast. Alternatively, you can go via one of the many tour operators in the city.

Impressions & Conclusion
Absolutely stunning. The feeling of the cold wind bellowing at you as you gaze on at these columns. The seabirds and small marine life in the surrounding ocean and tide pools, and the well maintained trails that wrap around the surrounding vantage points. This place has all the unique, natural sites you could ask for. I ended up going in December, and it was certainly chilly, but in exchange it was far less crowded. It was fun to watch a massive gust of wind hit, and watch everyone laugh and scream while trying to get pictures. This one is a must-see.

Blow me around, world
Salty wind blinds me anew
